Cruza a Chile por los 4.780 metros, hacia la región de Coquimbo y el Valle de Elqui. Es un paso de alta montaña y abre por temporada, en general entre noviembre y abril.Crosses into Chile at 4,780 metres, towards the Coquimbo region and the Elqui Valley. It is a high mountain pass and opens seasonally, roughly November to April.
Ischigualasto está en la Lista del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO desde diciembre de 2000. El Parque Nacional El Leoncito protege por ley la calidad de su cielo y aloja el complejo astronómico CASLEO.Ischigualasto has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since December 2000. El Leoncito National Park protects its sky quality by law and hosts the CASLEO astronomical complex.
